Adding instructions or comments to your Online Form


On occasions, you may want to supplement an element on your Form with more information. This is particularly useful for questions that may not be self-explanatory. The Form Builder has an inbuilt feature that allows the person filling out the form to roll their mouse over a ? icon in order to see more information about how to complete this field. 

To add instructions to an element on a Form:

  1. When you are logged in to your website account, click on Form Builder
  2. Click Edit next to the Form that contains the element you want to add instructions/notes to
  3. Click Edit next to the element you want to add instructions/notes to
  4. In the Description field, type in the instructions/notes you want to add
  5. Click Save

Now, when someone is filling in your form, all they need to do is hover their mouse over the ? icon next to the field for further information. See the image below:
